Weekend Greetings (dec 1, 2006)

Sunrise on November 30 here in Munakata, Japan Clouds do have silver linings that bring hope to each new day. Darkness cannot overcome the power of the rising SON. Each sunrise is a physical manifestation and declaration of the first command God spoke:

“Let there be light.”

Sunrises are the declaration of the resurrection of the Son of God from the darkness and emptiness of death, hell and the grave.

“In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

The light shines (present tense, now) in the darkness,

and darkness did not overcome it.”

Jesus said, “I have come as a light into the world, and whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

“The LORD is my light and my salvation.” Psalm 27:1

“God is the LORD, and He has given us light.” Psalm 118:27

“Truly the light is sweet and it is pleasant

for the eyes to behold the sun.” Ecclesiastes 11:7

“This is the message which we have heard from Him

and declare to you, that God is light

and in Him is no darkness at all.” 1 John 1:5

Kind of makes a person want to stand up, stretch his arms, fill his chest with breath and SING a song. Why not give it a try and sing the words to God tomorrow morning?

No matter if the weather is dumpy! Nothing can defeat the Light of the world! The storms will pass, the rain will stop, snow and ice will melt because the SON shines brightly above it all.
