Man alive! 

Jesus is why the flowers bloom!

When God made the flowers, He had in mind the death, burial, resurrection AND visitation of His Son to everyone who has a birthday.

We can see DBR&V every day ⎯

⎯ when we go to sleep (we become unconscious, and are buried under covers)

⎯ when we get up (we rise from that sleep)

⎯ when we wash our face (dead skin cells are washed away, buried down the drain, and we feel fresh and alive)

⎯ when we eat breakfast we are eating something that gave its life so we could live! (eggs, bacon, bananas, toast and jam).

New day, new life, new energy, new ideas, new friends, new paths, new clothes! Yes, NEW! This is all because of the life you were given by God when He said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” 

God created YOU in His own image. God blessed YOU and said, “Be fruitful and multiply, and replenish (top up, fill up, recharge, freshen) the earth,” or in other words, the place where you LIVE. God breathed into YOU the breath of LIFE and YOU became a living being! Every intake of air brings you resurrection power to live! The breathing process is one of death and resurrection. You breathe in life-giving oxygen and breathe out carbon dioxide.

In your mother’s womb you were not living on your own, you were living on the oxygen provided by your mother. When you were born, you came out of darkness (a grave as it were). The Psalmist says of our birth, “O LORD . . . My body was not hid from thee when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth (my mother’s womb).” When a child is born, he comes out of darkness and rises to walk in a new, fresh, life! Yes, that new child will cry, wet, and poop. It will fall, scrape its knees, hurt its elbows and fart, BUT because of each new day it is given to LIVE, that creation of God will reveal the death, burial, resurrection and visitation of the Almighty Son of God, Jesus, the promised Christ, the promised answer and solution to all of the problems that perplex our world.

Why not head to church this weekend and look for signs of death, burial, resurrection and visitation on the way? The fact that you are alive shows that YOU have been visited by God!
