GET READY . . . by Nils Olson

The following notes were copied from pieces of paper that were used in speaking a message titled “GET READY” at Munakata Bethel Christian Center in Japan on September 20, 27 and November 1, 2009. The message was spoken at Bible Fellowship in Federal Way, WA in the USA on January 31, 2010, and can be heard by clicking on the audio version here. Some of the entries below may be grammatically incorrect, but nonetheless, understandable.

Prophetic Word (?)

Get ready . . .

I received an e-mail from sister K M in Australia asking my opinion on preparation for becoming a part of the Bride (of Christ). As I was walking in the Fureai No Mori (a nearby park), thinking on her question, I heard the Lord speak to my spirit. This message is a result of what I heard.

Matthew 16:2-3

He answered and said unto them, “When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red. And in the morning, It will be foul weather today: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?”

Discerning weather.

Discerning the times in which we live.

Everyday countless times weather is forecast! At the touch of a button on a computer, a person can know the weather in almost any city around the world.

– Why then is it that when one begins to talk about the signs of the times being the end, do they look the other way? The answer is that the weather is temporary and changes all the time. Signs of the times, the end of the world, open the door to eternity. People are basically afraid of eternity.

Where to spend eternity? Heaven, or Hell. One or the other.

Acts 2:17-21 The last days

– verse 19 signs mentioned; sun and moon (are natural weather forecasters).

– verse 17 The Holy Spirit will be poured out on ALL flesh! The saved and unsaved alike. The godly and ungodly alike. Like rain that falls on everyone; like and earthquake that effects all people alike.

I felt as though the Lord spoke to me (during this walk) and said to look at the signs of the times — they are storm clouds gathering on the horizon; great, great, great storm clouds. These clouds are full, full, full of rain, wind, lightening, and thunder. These clouds are advancing toward the place where people are — around the world. We cannot ignore these signs of the times. We are being warned by God Himself!

The Word of the Lord came to me and said, “Secure ALL that is around your house, your family. Get them inside! NOW!

Acts 2:14 — Peter lifted up his voice and said, “Listen to me!”

Acts 16:31 — “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.”

That is: “Secure ALL that is around your house, your family. Get them inside! NOW!”

To the people inside, the storm will be one of a visitation of the Holy Ghost! On the other hand, to those outside, it will be one of destruction, devastation.

The storm clouds are seen around the world — NOT just in one place, (or one country)!

2 Peter 3:9 — “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.”

Matthew 28:20 — “. . . and lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.”

Matthew 7:24-29 — House built on a rock vs house built on sand?

Strongs Concordance says of house (3614NT) — oikia; the literal house, the inhabitants, family, property, wealth and goods.

“Secure ALL that is around your house, your family. Get them inside! NOW!”

“Listen to me . . .”

In relation to last week’s message as I was in thought while driving, The Holy Spirit reminded me very clearly of three historical incidents. We must not take these incidents lightly, but consider them VERY carefully, especially in relations to the message:

“Secure ALL that is around your house, your family. Get them inside! NOW!”

1.  NOAH

Genesis 6:5-7, 8. World conditions then. Matthew 24:37-39 World conditions now as prophesied by Jesus Himself. “But as the days of Noe were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.”

Genesis 6:14-16. The way of escape; the ARK. One ark, three stories.

1st story the foundation of the ark (God the FATHER; LORD);

2nd story in the middle is the door, the only way inside (God the SON; Jesus);

3rd story was like a skylight, letting in light for the family (God the HOLY SPIRIT; Christ).

Yes, One God, three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit: The LORD Jesus Christ.

Genesis 6:18. Noah, his wife, three sons, and three daughter-in-laws = 8 people. With these eight people, the human race was “resurrected,” so to speak, after the flood waters rebated and God spoke to them to “Be fruitful, multiply and replenish the earth.”

Genesis 6:22. Noah did exactly as he was told. He was not just a hearer, but a doer of the Word of God! cf. James 1:22.

Genesis 7:1. “Come thou and all they house into the ark (where I AM).” (parentheses my emphasis). God was already in the ark! Choosing God is the right thing to do! It benefits your whole family.

2. PASSOVER

Exodus 11:1. The last warning to Pharaoh to let God’s people go.

Exodus 11:4-7. The end of Pharaoh’s family line. His first son was issued a death sentence. Family discontinued. There was a difference between the Egyptians and Israelites, just as there is a difference between sin and righteousness. cf. James 4:17  “Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.”

Exodus 12:3. Prepare a lamb for each HOUSE.

Exodus 12:7, 12-13. Blood of a lamb, when placed on the two side posts and upper door post reveal clearly the shape of a blood-stained CROSS. Cf. John 1:29 “Behold, the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.”

Exodus 12:28. Doers of the Word.

Exodus 12:29-30. God is a man of His Word.

3.  RAHAB

Joshua 2:1-22 (read all for details)

– verse 1-7. Joshua sent spies into Jericho. They visited  Rahab the harlot’s house. Harlots welcome most anyone. No discrimination. Had they approached any other person, they would have immediately been reported to authorities. Rahab told the king’s men that she did not know from where they came, then went and hid them upstairs.

– verse 8-11. Rahab tells her visitors what she knows and what she  has heard about God. How much do our friends and acquaintances know about Almighty God as a result of knowing us?  What is the result of people hearing what you have to share about Almighty God? In Rahab’s case, “. . . as soon as we had heard these things, our hearts did melt, neither did there remain any more courage in any man, because of you: for the LORD your God, He is God in heaven above, and in earth beneath.” This generated respect in Rahab’s heart, and was basically Rahab’s confession of faith.

– verse 12-14. Rahab’s request. “Please make a promise to me. Save my family and give me proof of your promise.” Cf. Acts 16:31. There must ALWAYS be a FIRST person saved in a family in order for the proof to be given. If you are the only person saved in your family, that means it is thru YOU that the promise of family salvation is given. Before one can have a crop of any kind, a first seed must be planted.

– verse 16. Rahab had only three days to gather her family. How soon could we gather our family members if the world was going to end in three days? Her family included parents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, and related in-laws. Can you begin to imagine how cramped-full that little house on the wall of Jericho may have been?

– verse 18. A scarlet (RED) thread. YOU must gather your family.

– verse 21. “According unto your words, so be it.” In today’s language this is simply spoken as the word  “A-men.”

Matthew 1:1-5. Many very rarely read all the way through this long list of the ancestors of Jesus Christ, but please read through to at least verse five and see that Rahab is found in the lineage of Jesus Christ!

Conclusion: Pharaoh hardened his heart, even after seeing and hearing the signs and wonders of God performed through Moses. So, too, will people harden their hearts in the last days when signs and wonders of God are done through the true church, and be visited by judgements. When people harden their hearts THEY are responsible for the results, not God, or you.

“Secure ALL that is around your house, your family. Get them inside! NOW!”
