Five-star rating means you are tops

Five-star rating means you are tops

We all need an encouraging five-star something-or-other once in our lives. Do you need one today? Well, here it is . . . YOU are “five-star” in God’s eyes and heart: “Since thou wast precious in My sight, thou hast been honorable, and I have loved thee.”  Isaiah 43:4

Now, for those of you who cannot understand the thee, thou, wast and hast in this wonderful “five-star,” let me explain. There was once an old English King named James. He lived way back in the 1600s and commanded translators to translate (that’s what translators do, you know) the original manuscripts of the Bible into the modern-day English of the 1600s. There wasn’t a more modern translation than what is know as the King James Version (KJV) of the Bible. It was such a wondrous translation that it became what is still know today as the “Authorized Version” of the Bible.

Simply speaking, theethou, wast and hast are old ways in King James’ day of saying “you were and you have been.” The famous playwright of the 1600s, William Shakespeare also wrote his dramas in the same style. “Oh, Romeo, Romeo where art thou?” God called to Adam and asked the same question: Where art thou? Genesis 3:9

Let’s forget all this explanation, okay? And get down to where the rubber meets the road: YOU are precious and loved by God! So, that makes YOU pretty special. You are a five-star in God’s opinion . . . and that is even BETTER than an rating. YOU are “of great value, not to be wasted or treated carelessly, greatly loved and treasured” by Almighty God.

Yep, FIVE-STAR, indeed!
