Calligraphy
One of my hobbies is to learn and practice Japanese calligraphy. With a little of my own creativity, here are some samples of my own original pieces. Enjoy!

「ぴょんぴょん」
Pyon-pyon (the sound of a hopping rabbit).
Created for the year of the rabbit. 1999.

「ひヒん」
He-heen (the cry of a horse whinnying).
Created for the year of the horse. 2002.

「ひつじ」
He-tsu-jee (a simplified way of writing the word "sheep."
Created for the year of the sheep. 2003.

「愛と喜び」
Ai to yorokobi (Love and joy).

「心」
Kokoro (heart).
Created here with a bandage on it signifying a "hurting heart."

「人よ生きよ」
Hito yo! Iki yo!
(from Ezekiel 16:6 when the LORD passed by me and said, "LIVE!"

「人よ生きよ」
Hito yo! Iki yo!
(same as above only written for a poster contest, which results are not known yet.)

「神よ」
Kami yo! (O, God). From Psalm 51:10,
"Create in me a clean heart, O, God, and renew a right spirit within me."

「生きよ」
Iki yo! Same as 6 and 7 above.
The original hangs in the entry way of a person's home.

「愛、喜び、平安」
Ai, yorokobi, heian (Love, joy, peace).
Created when I was just fiddling around one day.

「主にあって喜べ」
Shu ni atte, yorokobe! (Rejoice in the Lord!) From Philippians 4:4.
The original hangs in the stairwell of a Roman Catholic monastery in town.

「愛」
Ai (Love).
Written on colored paper to reveal the warmth of love.
